About Us

In 1926 four brothers: Leonard, Raymond, Hobart and Wilburn Townsend formed the Townsend Insurance Agency. Sometime later Wilburn acquired the agency from the other brothers. Wilburn owned and operated the business until his death in 1969. At this time, his daughter Janell Evans and her husband Jim Evans assumed ownership. Townsend-Evans Insurance was born.

Jim Evans has worked in the business for over 50 years. His experience and leadership have helped the agency to continue thriving throughout the years. In 1996 Jim was joined by his son, Alan Evans, who bought half of the agency in 2017 from his father to continue the family history of the business. Alan serves as the agency manager and commercial, personal, and health insurance producer.

Amy Price is a personal lines agent with the company and she has worked with the firm for 25 years.

Samantha Hendrix joined the staff in 2015 as a bookkeeper and customer service representative.
